Policy paper about the post-mortem of the Nord Stream projects and security in the Baltic Sea Region

My recent policy paper, 'The Postmortem of the Nord Stream Projects', on understanding what led to the current situation in Europe and the bloody #Russian invasion of #Ukraine. I tried to shed light on one of the factors that enabled and made Putin dare to attack Europe. In this paper, I explored how geopolitical and normative concerns were sidelined in favour of short-term economic gains despite warnings and evidence, and how this dynamic compromised both national and EU-wide energy and national security. I also discussed the role of actors in the malign development of #NordStream projects which extends far beyond Europe.

This paper is part of my extensive research project, conducted over the last two years, on ex-post analyses of the Nord Stream projects, which has been published for policymakers and the general public. The scientific paper will be out in the coming months.
